• Feb. 19th Medal Ball-testing at stu­dio in the after­noon and din­ner and danc­ing cel­e­bra­tion at the Impe­r­ial Ball­room at the Amway.  After­noon open to every­one; evening tick­ets $155.00. Our judge is Ris­ing Star Inter­na­tional Latin & Rhythm Cham­pion Gabriella Young. Don’t miss this chance to dance for the best. Gabriella has chore­o­graphed sev­eral motion pic­tures, is a cham­pi­onship adju­di­ca­tor, and is a US Pro­fes­sional Latin & Rhythm Final­ist. She’s per­formed for the Open British Pro­fes­sional Latin com­pe­ti­tion in Black­pool and hails from Hol­ly­wood. We’re excited to have her!

For the fourth con­sec­u­tive year, the JW Mar­riott was packed to the gills with a sold out hotel. The highly pop­u­lar Pachanga latin dance par­ties the hotel have been host­ing every quar­ter capped off a stel­lar year with over 1,000 tick­ets sold to the party. The JW also col­lab­o­rated with the Super­friendz and the new TV show, MYGR Week­end, in host­ing the annual Glit­ter Ball, also inside the JW.

The Arthur Mur­ray dancers seduced the crowd with their amaz­ing chore­og­ra­phy, while the elec­tri­fy­ing salsa band, Grupo Aye, pro­vided the musi­cal enter­tain­ment. DJ Todd Ernst took the reigns at Glit­ter Ball as the city’s socialites
danced the night away to a much antic­i­pated cel­e­bra­tion after the eco­nomic down­turn in the coun­try. Luck­ily, the JW actu­ally saw dou­ble digit growth both in hotel occu­pancy and restau­rant covers.

Van Andel Insti­tute is com­mit­ted to improv­ing the health and enhanc­ing the lives of cur­rent and future gen­er­a­tions through dis­ease research and sci­ence edu­ca­tion. Can­cer research is its pri­mary focus, but stud­ies branch out into other dis­eases such as osteo­poro­sis, Parkin­son dis­ease, and dia­betes. Its researchers work to trans­late dis­cov­er­ies at the mol­e­c­u­lar level into effec­tive ther­a­pies for patients.

Danc­ing With the Stars dancers Urs Geisen­hainer and Agnes Kazmeir­chak are mak­ing a repeat visit to Grand Rapids stu­dios Decm­ber 1st and 2nd. Don’t miss this chance to treat your­self to some celebrity pro coaching!

The pair started danc­ing together in 2005. Agnes is orig­i­nally from Poland and Urs comes from Ger­many. They were first sched­uled to meet in Poland, but because it was a Sun­day, had to con­vince a stu­dio owner to let them use his facil­ity while he went to church. Once they were locked in, Agnes real­ized she for­got her dance shoes in the car, and instead they talked for sev­eral hours, decid­ing to become part­ners. They didn’t actu­ally dance together until they arrived in Los Ange­les, where they pro­ceeded to take the dance world by storm.
